Huckleberry Botanic Regional Preserve

Huckleberry Botanic Regional Preserve is a 241 acres (0.98 km²)regional park and nature reserve in the Oakland Hills, in the eastern East Bay (San Francisco Bay Area) region of the San Francisco Bay Area of California. It is within Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.^[1] It is a park within the East Bay Regional Parks District system.^[1] The Preserve is named after the California Huckleberry (Vaccinium ovatum) which grows abundantly within its habitat.^[1]

The Huckleberry Botanic Regional Preserve is on the crest of the Oakland Hills, located above Oakland and Orinda. It represents a relic plant association found only in certain areas along the coastal climate region of California, where specific soil and climatic conditions still exist.^[1] It is a very diverse botanical area for native plants of the mixed evergreen forest and montane chaparral and woodlandsecoregions and plant communities. Trails connect the preserve with Robert Sibley Volcanic Regional Preserve on the north, and Redwood Regional Park on the south.^[2]

يُعدّ درب هاكلبيري مسارًا طبيعيًا ذاتيًا بطول 2.7 كيلومتر (1.7 ميل) يمرّ عبر المحمية. ^{[ 1 ]} إلى جانب عنب كاليفورنيا البري، تشمل النباتات الأخرى شجر الكستناء الذهبي ( Chrysolepis chrysophylla )، وشجر الجلد الغربي ، وزهرة السوسن دوغلاس ، وسرخس الخشب ، وسرخس السيف الغربي . أما الأشجار فتشمل غار كاليفورنيا ( Umbellularia californica )، وبلوط الساحل الحي ( Quercus agrifolia )، وشجيرة المانزانيتا الشاحبة ، وشجيرة المانزانيتا الهشة الأوراق، وبندق كاليفورنيا . ^{[ 3 ] [ 1 ]} 

الحديقة مفتوحة طوال العام، من الساعة 5:00 صباحًا حتى 10:00 مساءً يوميًا، ما لم يُنص على خلاف ذلك. يُمنع اصطحاب الكلاب إلى الحديقة نظرًا لحساسية بيئة النباتات. لا توجد أماكن تخييم أو نزهات قابلة للحجز. مواقف السيارات مجانية. ^{[ 1 ]}
