وقعت معركة فولكوفيسك (فولكوفيسك) في الفترة من 14 إلى 16 نوفمبر 1812، خلال الغزو الفرنسي لروسيا، بالقرب من قرية فولكوفيسك ( فاوكافيسك حاليًا ). حيث تمكن ما بين 35,000 و40,500 جندي نمساوي وساكسوني وفرنسي بقيادة كارل فيليب، أمير شوارزنبرغ، من هزيمة ما بين 27,000 و32,000 جندي روسي بقيادة فابيان غوتليب فون دير أوستن-ساكن . ^{[ 1 ]}^{[ 2 ]} نجح أوستن-ساكن في صدّ فيلق جان رينييه ، لكنه فشل في إخراجه من المرتفعات. ونفذ النمساويون الهجوم الحاسم بعد وصولهم. ^{[ 2 ]}

معركة

استولى ساكن على فولكوفيسك في 14 نوفمبر، وصدّ قوات جان رينييه في هجوم ليلي، لكنه لم يتمكن من تدمير هذا الجزء من الجيش الفرنسي الذي تمركز على المرتفعات شمال فولكوفيسك. وفي 15 نوفمبر، زحف شوارزنبرغ إلى فولكوفيسك تاركًا 6500 رجل لحماية سلونيم . هاجم النمساويون قوات ساكن في 16 نوفمبر. حينها، تعرض الروس لهجوم من ثلاث جهات، لكنهم تمكنوا من الانسحاب؛ وهكذا انسحب ساكن أخيرًا نحو بريست ، متكبدًا خسائر فادحة. ^{[ 4 ]}

التداعيات

تبع شوارزنبرغ ساكن، لكن ماريت أمره بالتوجه إلى مينسك فورًا. امتثل شوارزنبرغ على مضض، لكنه لم يكمل مسيرته إلى مينسك لاحقًا، إذ أن الطريق الذي يزيد طوله عن 300 كيلومتر (190 ميلًا) من فولكوفيسك إلى بوريسوف وبيريزينا كان يمر عبر أراضٍ وعرة وظروف جوية متدهورة. ربما كان قادرًا على صدّ تشيتشاغوف، لكن بدلًا من ذلك، لم يدعم رجال شوارزنبرغ البالغ عددهم 40 ألفًا نابليون عند بيريزينا. ^[⁴^]
