جزر بيتيوسيك

جزر بيتيوسيك ، [ 1 ] [ 2 ] والتي يشار إليها غالبًا ببساطة باسم بيتيوسيس ( بالكتالونية : Pitiüses [ pitiˈuzəs ] ، بالإسبانية : Pitiusas [ pitiˈusas ] ؛ من اليونانية πιτύα pitýa ، شجرة الصنوبر )، أو بشكل شائع ولكن غير رسمي (وبشكل غامض) باسم جزر الصنوبر ، هو الاسم الذي يطلق بشكل جماعي على جزر البليار الإسبانية إيبيزا (بالكتالونية: Eivissaوفورمينتيرا ، وإسبالمادور، وغيرها من الجزر الصغيرة في البحر الأبيض المتوسط .

تقع الجزر على بعد حوالي 100 كيلومتر (62 ميلاً) جنوب غرب جزيرة مايوركا ، وعلى بعد حوالي 80 كيلومتراً (50 ميلاً) شرق كاب دي لا ناو في شبه الجزيرة الأيبيرية .  

تاريخ

كان أول اسم معروف للجزر هو الاسم اليوناني القديم Πιτυοῦσσαι Pityûssai ("المغطاة بأشجار الصنوبر "). [ 3 ]

منذ حوالي عام 200 قبل الميلاد، استُخدمت الجزر كقاعدة لقراصنة كيليكيا . وقد طُردوا، هم والجنرال الروماني المارق كوينتوس سيرتوريوس ، الذي كان قد تحالف مع القراصنة، على يد أسطول روماني كبير بقيادة كايوس أنيوس لوسكوس .

ذُكرت أكبر جزيرتين، تحت اسمي إيبيزا (إبيسوس) وفورمينتيرا (أوفيوسيس)، في كتاب الجغرافيا لكلاوديوس بطليموس ( القرن الثاني الميلادي). وأشار بطليموس إلى أن إيبيزوس كانت تضم مدينة تحمل الاسم نفسه .

إدارة

تُصنّف جزر الصنوبر أحيانًا ضمن جزر البليار ، أو تُعتبر منفصلةً عن جزر البليار الأصلية، وهي مايوركا ومينوركا (اللتان تُشكّلان مع جزرهما الصغيرة جزر جيمينسيا ). سياسيًا، تُعدّ جزر الصنوبر جزءًا من مجتمع جزر البليار ذي الحكم الذاتي.

Initially, they were administratively part of the same insular council (of Ibiza and Formentera), but since 2007 they are now separated between the insular council of Ibiza and the insular council of Formentera (each one is also assimilated to a single comarca), which are two of the four main administrative subdivisions of the province (and autonomous community) of the Balearic Islands.
