الطاووس الهندي ( Pavo cristatus ) هو الطائر الوطني للهند .

هذه قائمة بأنواع الطيور في الهند، وتشمل الأنواع الموجودة والأنواع التي انقرضت مؤخرًا والمسجلة ضمن الحدود السياسية لجمهورية الهند كما حددتها الحكومة الهندية. بلغ عدد الأنواع المسجلة 1396 نوعًا [ 1 ] حتى عام 2025، منها 84 نوعًا مستوطنًا في البلاد. [ 1 ] 98 نوعًا مهددًا عالميًا. [ 2 ] الطاووس الهندي ( Pavo cristatus ) هو الطائر الوطني للهند. [ 3 ] لا تشمل هذه القائمة الأنواع الموجودة في المناطق الخاضعة للولاية القضائية الهندية، مثل داكشين غانغوتري ، كما تم تحديد الأنواع البحرية بمسافة فاصلة اعتباطية. لا تتضمن القائمة أنواع الطيور الأحفورية أو الطيور الهاربة من الأسر.

استُخدمت الوسوم التالية لتسليط الضوء على عدة فئات. ولا تندرج الأنواع المحلية الشائعة ضمن أي من هذه الفئات.

  • (V) المهاجر - المعروف أيضًا باسم النادر، ويشير إلى نوع نادر الحدوث أو يحدث عرضيًا في الهند - عادة ما يكون أقل من عشرة سجلات مؤكدة.
  • (هـ) مستوطن - نوع مستوطن في الهند
  • (مثال) الانقراض المحلي - نوع لم يعد موجودًا في الهند على الرغم من وجود مجموعات منه في أماكن أخرى

تضم فصيلة البطيات البط ومعظم الطيور المائية الشبيهة بالبط ، مثل الإوز والبجع . تتكيف هذه الطيور مع الحياة المائية بفضل أقدامها المكففة ومناقيرها المسطحة وريشها الذي يتميز بقدرة فائقة على طرد الماء بفضل طبقة زيتية. وقد سُجل وجود 45 نوعًا منها في الهند.

يتميز طائر القطا برأس ورقبة صغيرين يشبهان رأس ورقبة الحمام، لكن جسمه قوي ومتماسك. وله أجنحة طويلة مدببة، وأحيانًا ذيل، ويطير بسرعة وبشكل مباشر. تتجمع أسرابه عند موارد المياه عند الفجر والغسق. سيقانه مغطاة بالريش حتى أصابع القدم. سُجلت سبعة أنواع منه في الهند، التي تضم أكبر عدد من طيور القطا بين جميع دول العالم.

الرّاليات عائلة كبيرة من الطيور الصغيرة والمتوسطة الحجم، تشمل طيور المرعى ، والكركي ، والغطاس، والدجاجة المائية . تسكن هذه الطيور عادةً في المناطق ذات الغطاء النباتي الكثيف في البيئات الرطبة قرب البحيرات والمستنقعات والأنهار. وهي عمومًا طيور خجولة ومنطوية، مما يجعل رصدها صعبًا، مع أن بعضها جريء ولافت للنظر. تمتلك معظم أنواعها أرجلًا قوية وأصابع طويلة تتكيف جيدًا مع الأسطح الناعمة غير المستوية. كما تميل إلى امتلاك أجنحة قصيرة مستديرة، وتكون ضعيفة الطيران. يوجد في الهند عشرون نوعًا منها.

The weavers are small passerine birds related to sparrows and finches. They are seed-eating birds with rounded conical bills. The males of many species are brightly coloured, usually in red or yellow and black, some species show variation in colour only in the breeding season. There are four species which have been recorded in India.

The accentors are in the only bird family, Prunellidae, which is completely endemic to the Palearctic. They are small, fairly drab species superficially similar to sparrows. There are seven species which have been recorded in India.

Finches are seed-eating passerine birds, that are small to moderately large and have a strong beak, usually conical and in some species very large. All have twelve tail feathers and nine primaries. These birds have a bouncing flight with alternating bouts of flapping and gliding on closed wings, and most sing well. There are 44 species which have been recorded in India.
