  • 4 أكتوبر - هروب النبلاء : وصل إيرل تايرون وإيرل تيركونيل، برفقة أتباعهما، إلى القارة الأوروبية، ونزلوا في يوم القديس فرنسيس في كيليبوف بفرنسا وعلى متنهم 99 شخصًا. [ 93 ] بعد أن غادروا راثمُولان في أيرلندا في 12 سبتمبر.
  • 27 أكتوبر - رصد يوهانس كيبلر مذنب هالي .
  • في السابع من نوفمبر ، وصلت سفينة حربية هولندية بقيادة الأدميرال كورنيليس ماتيليف دي يونغ إلى شبه جزيرة الملايو في محاولة لفتح قنوات تجارية مع سلطنة باهانغ ، والحصول على مساعدة باهانغ في حرب البحرية الهولندية ضد البحرية البرتغالية في التجارة الآسيوية. وافق السلطان عبد الغفور على المساعدة مقابل تقديم هولندا مساعدة فنية.   • 15 نوفمبر - فرار النبلاء : بعد مغادرة هيو أونيل، إيرل تايرون، وروري أودونيل ، إيرل تيركونيل الأول ، أيرلندا، برفقة 90 من أتباعهم، أصدر الملك جيمس الأول ملك إنجلترا واسكتلندا وأيرلندا إعلانًا جاء فيه: "إن فرار إيرلي تايرون وتيركونيل، مع بعض رفاقهم، من الأجزاء الشمالية من مملكة أيرلندا، يُعدّ فسادًا وكذبًا. فجرائمهم الشنيعة لا تزال حاضرة في الأذهان، إذ أعلنوا عن أنفسهم كوحوش في الطبيعة، حيث لم يكتفوا بالتخلي عن طاعتهم الشخصية لسيدهم، بل رضوا ببيع وطنهم لمن كانوا آنذاك في أشد حالات العداء لتاجي إنجلترا وأيرلندا... فإننا نعلن بكلمة ملك، أنه... بغض النظر عن كل ما يدّعونه، يجب الاعتراف به." «أن ينتقلوا من مجرد نعمة عند خضوعهم بعد خياناتهم العظيمة وغير الطبيعية»، ويجب أن يفقدوا حقوقهم وممتلكاتهم كنبلاء. [ 96 ]

  • في 22 ديسمبر ، غادر أسطولٌ مؤلفٌ من 13 سفينة حربية هولندية بقيادة الأدميرال بيتر فيرهوف هولندا في رحلة استكشافية إلى المحيط الهندي لفتح التجارة مع الدول الآسيوية ومواجهة المقاومة. لم يعد فيرهوف قط، وتعرض هو والعديد من أفراد طاقمه لكمينٍ وقُتلوا في 22 مايو في جزر باندا بإندونيسيا .
